Tom Akins

Tom Akins joined LeadingAge North Carolina in 2010. With more than 20 years of experience in aging services, Tom leads the Association's efforts in advocacy, strategic visioning and governance and also serves as President and CEO of the LeadingAge North Carolina Foundation. He is currently serving a two-year term as chair of the LeadingAge national State Executive Forum and is an ex officio member of the LeadingAge national board. He is a member of the executive committee and treasurer of Value First, a Minneapolis, Minnesota based group purchasing organization that serves the aging service field. He is also a member of the North Carolina Coalition on Aging's workgroup on future initiatives. Leadership development is a particular passion, as reflected by his service as the first national president of the LeadingAge Larry Minnix Leadership Academy's 550-member Alumni Network. A Kansas native, Tom has been extensively involved in public policy having worked for the Kansas Legislature and for United States Congressman Dan Glickman. A graduate of Emporia State University, he was a licensed nursing home administrator in Kansas.

Leslie Roseboro joined LeadingAge North Carolina in 2007. She is a LeadingAge Larry Minnix Leadership Academy Fellow from the class of 2013. Prior to joining the association, she worked in administration at a member retirement community for nine years. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and her Master of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University. Leslie is a North Carolina native and resides in Durham with her husband and two children.

Jennifer Gill joined LeadingAge North Carolina in 2014. With 15 years experience in aging services, she leads the Association's messaging efforts. Jennifer is serving a three-year term on the board of IFC for Social Service in Carrboro and volunteers on their board development committee. She is a member of the NC Institute of Medicine Task Force on Health Services for Individuals who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and a member of the statewide steering committee for the NC Partnership for Compassionate Care. Jennifer is a native of Durham, and holds a Master of Social Work from Boston University and a BA from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
