2020 Annual Conference Cancelled

At LeadingAge North Carolina, we understand that COVID-19 preparedness means it’s all-hands-on-deck for our Member Communities and our Business Members…including travel bans and social distancing practices. Our members are on the front lines of this devastating pandemic and we are here to support you.

To that end, and in light of the President’s national emergency declaration, LeadingAge North Carolina has made the difficult decision to CANCEL our 2020 Annual Conference and Expo originally scheduled for May 18-21 at The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. The Golf Outing has also been cancelled. At the heart of this decision: we cannot in any way risk the health of the aging services staff we support or the elders we serve. While we believe this decision is prudent, we will miss gathering with you at the conference. We look forward to the 2021 Annual Conference and Expo to be held May 11-14, 2021 in Wilmington, NC, with particular anticipation.

Please be on the lookout for additional communications in the days to come as we finalize details with the hotel and other conference partners. We wanted to let you know as soon as possible about the cancellation itself. Those who registered for the conference and/or expo will be sent a detailed email regarding their hotel and registration as that information becomes available.

LeadingAge North Carolina is here to support you by phone, email, and virtual meetings through this unprecedented circumstance. Please reach out at any time with anything you need. And, remember to join our weekly Monday support calls at 2pm and reference our COVID-19 email updates. In conjunction with LeadingAge national, we will continue to provide you information and resources to help you plan for and respond to COVID-19.  You’ll find a clearinghouse of resources—updated daily—at Thank you for your dedication to the older adults we serve. We are proud to be your partner.
