Bocce Court

Do you have a croquet/bocce court on your campus? If so, how is it programmed? Do you host other events on that space besides croquet and bocce?
How was it paid for? Would you install it again if you had it to do over?

We do not have a bocce or croquet court, but are interested in having one.

We use our large special events room for bocce ball 2 x/wk. We have a small group that participates. I hope you find this helpful.

Croquet is a popular activity in western Carolina. We have an outdoor court that has artificial grass on it. It is used frequently when the weather permits. Bocce ball is not as popular but could be played on the croquet court. Residents have donated a majority of the proceeds to construct the court. We do fund some of the annual maintenance. The residents have a croquet association and program their matches and playing time. We have found this is a good physical and social activity and that many residents that use to play golf or tennis have transitioned to play croquet. Thanks!

We do have a croquet court. However, it is only used about once a week by a few residents. I think it looks nice but would probably do something different with space if we could do it all over again and still considering in the future. He have kicked the idea around for a pickle ball court.

We have not used it for anything else to my knowledge but it is a big area we for sure could utilize. The court is maintained by our grounds manager and all expenses are paid out of our landscaping budge. We recently has to replace the outer surface all the way around the court.

We have a bocce court that is used infrequently. Still, it’s nice to have and we don’t regret having it. It’s been here so long (15+ years?) that I don’t know how it was paid for. It is only used for bocce.

We are also planning to install a croquet court at a separate location. The cost is not large, but we are paying for it out of a larger gift.
