Do you provide access/assistance for child care for your employees? Do you have child care on-site?

If so –

How many children are enrolled?
Does your community provide a discounted rate?
What are the benefits of providing access to child care?
What are the drawbacks?

Our community currently does not offer child care. As we grow, this is something we look further into.

We only provide child care during emergency events (ice storms, snow, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes, etc.).

We offer free daycare on days when our local public school system is closed for inclement weather. Otherwise, no daycare services are offered to our staff.

River Landing has a child care center on its campus. We lease the space to a provider that maintains a 5 star child care center. I believe they offer a subsidy to our employees that is received because we charge them less than market rents. We have always wished that more of our employees would/could take advantage of the center, but even with a subsidy it is still too expensive for many.

We do have an onsite day care for the public at one of our locations. Our employees get a discount. There are 40 children. It is really a wonderful thing for the children and our residents. One resident plays Mother Goose and they visit with her weekly. It is a great program. Our problems have been very limited.
