The previous company that I worked for required OIG checks because we were regulated by Medicaid. I checked the site myself upon hire and monthly. The site is free. I would not pay an outside vendor to check OIG. It is very fast and does not require you to enter much information. The link to the exclusions list is as follows - https://exclusions.oig.hhs.gov. This will take you straight to the search. Here is the link to the home page - https://oig.hhs.gov/. You can run OIG individually or in a list. I hope this information helps.

We use the OIG online exclusion database to check. https://exclusions.oig.hhs.gov/

We check all new employees and vendors on this site. In addition, HR checks employees and all vendors annually. They save the results for each batch to a PDF as backup documentation.

We do not regularly use either the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Service’s Office of Inspector General (“OIG”) nor the General Services Administration (“GSA”), we do a comprehensive criminal background check on every prospective employee using a third-party firm – Hirease – and, yes, we do recommend them for those services.

We hope this helps!
