We require that residents be physically present on campus when they have guests. Increasingly we are having situations where residents allow individuals to stay in their residences on campus when they are not present and out of town and thus are not present to address issues that arise with the guests. We have allowed exceptions, but these exceptions would be at administration’s discretion.

For instance, if a resident is in the hospital, and a family member is here for support, the need to stay longer (or even be in the home apart from the resident) negates the policy.

1) We have never had to “evict” a non-resident, and never had a visitor or guest create an issue with not following rules of the community.
2) We will be adding to our agreement a limit of two weeks to describe “short-term” visitors and guests.
3) We will continue to make “compassionate exceptions” for resident health care issues and death of a resident.

We don’t allow guests to stay at the residence without the resident expect in the same circumstances – hospitalization, staying at the SNF, recent death and they need to remove items from the home, etc. We have not had issues with conduct of the guests.

· Residents may reserve our furnished studio apartment for up to 7 nights.

· Reservations are to be made in person with the receptionist; and can be made 90 days in advance of desired date. If you or your guests have not filled out the Guest Reservation form, please do so at the receptionist desk.

· A pet is allowed in the guest apartment with a onetime fee of $50.00. Guests must follow our pet policy.

The charges for the guest room will appear on the resident’s monthly bill. Guests may check in and pick up the key at the Hospitality Desk from 3:00pm to 4:30pm or in the Resident Care Center if the Hospitality Desk is closed. When departing, return the key to the Hospitality Desk by 11:00am so we can prepare the room for the next guest.
