Do you allow your independent living residents to unbundle any services from their monthly maintenance fees? If so, would you mind sharing what you charge for residents to ride in campus vehicles to an event e.g., theatre, ball game, day trip, etc.?

We typically don’t unbundle any services like dining, housekeeping, or maintenance, etc.
We do charge for transportation to events like ball games, theatre, etc. Typically the transportation fee to ride our Bus is under $10 per trip. If a trip is further away, we may charge slightly more, but typically for in-town outings its under $10.

We do not, as a rule, allow resident to unbundle monthly charges. One exception, which is dealt with on a case by case basis, are meal charges. If, for documented medical reasons, a resident cannot eat the meals provided then we have allowed the resident to be exempted from this charge, (i.e. all meal via feeding tube).

We do not allow residents to unbundle any services.

Here we don’t really have a set fee. Fees are determined case by case. For example, the bus ride to the symphony is $4. We roll in $4 for local concerts and plays, as well. There are typically no transportation fees for local activity outing like the joyride, lunch bunch, shopping, etc. For longer excursions and daytrips we add the transportation fee to the whole trip. The fee depends on distance and is determined trip by trip. For a daytrip or overnight trip; food, hotel, excursions, and transportation would all be rolled up into one flat fee and added to their monthly statement.

Currently, we do not provide “private transport.” We only offer transportation, free of charge, to trips that we plan and sponsor. If they want to attend an event for which we do not offer transportation, they would hire and pay for an outside company to take them.

No, we do not allow residents to unbundle services. Transportation is included in the base fee structure. However, if they would like to rent a bus for a non-sponsored event we charge for the cost of the driver, fuel and bus expenses. Additional if a resident wants to be taken to the airport etc. there is a flat rate of $35.00.
