Armed Intruder Training 8 J. Gill I have done some research on ALiCE training, but we have not implemented it. We did have Charlotte Mecklenburg Police come out in late October and they presented a 2 hour program on Active Shooter/Survival Training that was very informative. We involved members of the Management team, as well as weekend/evening Nursing Supervisors, Receptionists and Social Workers. CMPD offers this for free, although they are completely booked through the Spring, as so many facilities are requesting this training. We’d be happy to collaborate on sharing training resources with other communities as well!

Resident Meals 10 J. Gill POS System: FullCount is an AMAZING POS system that works GREAT! It works great with AOD for our Fin Ops team and they have the best customer service team. I have recommended FullCount to other senior living communities and they too have enjoyed the system. Pros: easy to use, the back of house system is very easy to use, when you have to make changes its very easy to do, the system has tons of reports you can run which really ups our organization.Cons: NONE!!! Residents receive dining dollars every month and can carry over a maximum amount of Dining Dollars each month (I can provide our Dining Dollar policy/procedure if someone needs it) The resident task force team is composed of residents and management for the department the task force is relating to. Residents were very involved and since we started the dining dollar program 6 years ago residents have provided guidance and feedback on how the program can be better for them and operations. The program was discussed with residents about 4 to 6 months prior to actually starting the dining dollar program which started in 2011.

In-House Cable Company 4 J. Gill We use local Compas cable. We get a bulk discount, pay one invoice to Compass, then pass along the cost to residents. A few years ago we tried DISH. The benefits were: cost savings and the channel lineup was customized to a listing the residents voted on. BUT the service was terrible, it went out frequently and at very inconvenient times (like middle of NCAA championship game, weekends when DISH rep was not available, etc.) so before the two year contract was up we were able to get out of the contract.

Securing a Unit after a death 0 S. Mouras Hello, What is your community's practice on securing a unit after a resident has died? Do you change the lock?  What access does the family/executor have and how is that communicated?  Thank you!

Automation Process for Online Forms 11 J. Gill A/P is basically a manual process, inputting invoices into AOD and then printing manual checks. We have tried to increase our use of ACH whenever possible and in the future will be researching automated systems. Human Resources – we have just implemented ICIMS and have used it to automate our employee recruiting and new hire onboarding process. We also use Relias training system which assists us in ongoing training but also new hire training (some done prior to start date). New Resident intake – our marketing group uses REPs (MatrixCare) to track their efforts which soon will be able to integrate/import new residents into AOD resident profiles (recently purchased by MatrixCare). We recently implemented AOD’s electronic medical records.
