Emergency Call System 11 J. Gill We currently use One Call now phone messaging and e-mail. In my opinion, it has worked great, and we have never had any problems. It also has the option of polling that enables people to answer a question, and moves the answers to a spreadsheet. Example, Will you be able to attend the meeting today at 10:00 am, press 1 for yes and 2 for no. They have other options such as text messaging, etc. Website: http://www.onecallnow.com/?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=onecallnow

Electronic Document Management 0 R. Foor I would like to ask what everyone is using for Electronic Document Management for Business and what you think of what your using. We at Givens Estates are currently using an older version of Fortis and are looking at upgrading or replacing it.  We also want to ensure what we replace it with will be useful in a multi site environment.

Leadership re: OSHA Compliance 14 J. Gill The Executive Director and the Director of Facilities takes the lead for the inspection, entrance and exit. If questions come up about safety, either the Director of Human Resources or the Director of Nursing provides leadership - this depends on the question being asked.

Mental Health Reimbursements & Policies 6 Dale Melton This is a difficult area of service provision especially for the most frail and those economically disadvantaged. We currently utilize NCEPS for Skilled and Assisted Living residents. This service is ok but not as thorough as was the case when we were able to retain a Psychiatrist and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from a local mental health provider group. Due to reimbursement issues we had to change to the larger group several years ago since the previous providers stopped proving the service. The ability to access services for those with financial means in our independent living areas is better but since services are fragmented, residents are often confused about how to obtain services. For residents in independent living that are community Medicaid and others that have limited ability to pay, the ability to access services is becoming more difficult due to State Mental Health Managed care groups. The ability to access services is limited by the lack of competition and reimbursement. I am not encouraged that this situation will improve any time soon since this has been a growing problem for over 25 years in this State.

Medical Supplies 0 J. Gill Does your community charge residents living in your skilled nursing facility for medical supplies (that would be in addition to the monthly charge) for residing on the nursing unit?  If so, do you charge the cost of the supplies or instead mark the cost up?  If you charge extra, is it for all medical supplies or just certain ones?
