The staff appreciation gift for us is run by our Resident Staff Appreciation Committee. The resident committee fund raises and adjusts their goal each year. The way the funds are distributed so that any team member working under 1000 hours between Dec 1-Nov 30th receives one amount (this year it was $175) and anyone working 1000 + hours receives a greater amount (This year it was $650).

We are truly committed to rewarding and recognizing our staff. In an effort to take a teamwork approach, we organized a committee with representatives from each department to share in making decisions that best suit the organization’s needs. We do the following for employee appreciation:

1) C.A.R.E program-centered around resident experience. This is similar to a high five award and is offered through our site and in card form around our campus. Residents, families and staff can recognize our staff for going outside their normal job scope. We post these award winners in 2 different locations in or building. Each month a winner is randomly selected from our committee. On a yearly basis, employees are eligible for our Exceptional Employee Award.
2) Employees who have been with us for 20 years are recognized by displaying a formal picture and quote on or Employee Appreciation Wall. We rolled this out last year with an unveiling and high tea event. Directors recognized each of their staff members who were inducted into our wall of fame.
3) Employees with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25,30 receive recognition and appreciation by receiving credits to purchase gifts in benchmark catalogues that we personally designed.
4) All hourly employees are eligible for our resident gift at the end of the year. Salaried employees receive a gift as well. This is dependent on budget.
5) Residents provide a yearly holiday party where the gifts are distributed.
6) We have an employee appreciation week each year which usually ends with an offsite evening party. The week consists of events each day catered to all staff.
7) We have employee cookouts in the summer where meals are free.
8) Each department has their own Employee appreciation budget to put towards departmental events of their choice.

Our Residents’ Council provides a Team Appreciation Gift to employees in early December of each year. The gifts are based on resident donations.

The executive director, associate executive director, and other administrators do not participate.

Gifts are based on hours worked. For instance, a part time employee, working 20 hours per week, would receive approximately half what a full time employee might receive.

There is no distinction made between exempt and non-exempt employees.

Administration does not participate at all, other than in providing hourly information to the residents’ council.
