LeadingAge NC Weighs In with North Carolina General Assembly
Earlier today LeadingAge North Carolina sent aletter to the North Carolina General Assembly’s House Select Committee on COVID-19. The letter is based on member feedback. It provides recommendations around policy and budget changes to help support member communities.

Grants to States for Meals for Older Adults
The Administration on Community Living announced $250 million in grants to help communities provide meals for older adults.State grant amountsare determined based on the population-based formulas defined in the Older Americans Act. Crisis Counseling and Emotional Support Hotline

The National Disaster Distress Helpline at 1-800-985-5990 is offering crisis counseling and emotional support 24/7 during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Free K-12 Learning Resource

Kahn Academy, a nonprofit, is providing free learning resources for parents and caregivers to help support students at home.

1135 Waiver Request for Home Health and Hospice
LeadingAge senta letter to the US Department of Health and Human Servicesrequesting blanket 1135 waivers for hospice and home health. The letter offers telehealth options and relief on regulatory requirements for these two service lines. It also suggests waiving the homebound requirement for home health which could make it easier for services to be covered for people when they leave the hospital and go home.
