Request for Proposals - 2018 Spring Conference
Share |

LeadingAge North Carolina invites you to share your expertise in the field of aging services by submitting a proposal to be a presenter at our largest event of the year, the Spring Conference and Trade Show May 14 – 17, 2018 in Asheville, NC. We seek proposals that demonstrate best practices, exemplify creativity, and inspire innovation in the field of aging.

In 2018 our theme is Life On Purpose. The play on the words is intentional, designed to be unexpected and edgy. We like the double meaning. First, it focuses on living intentionally. Our members help older people live a life they choose not one handed to them by circumstance. Second, it inspires members to be leaders. It celebrates their choice to work in our field and live a life centered on a higher purpose.

The Annual Spring Conference is a three-day gathering providing high quality educational sessions, product exhibits and networking opportunities. The event is an excellent opportunity for community and business members to share expertise and trends specific to aging services. We are seeking timely, thought-provoking education sessions that directly relate to Life Plan Communities/Continuing Care Retirement Communities. Based on 2017 conference evaluations, attendees requested topics geared towards finance/accounting, technology, public policy, staffing issues, communicating with family members, and diversity of staff, board and residents. We are seeking a variety of industry related topics and all are welcome. Formats that include panels and member communities are encouraged.

The LeadingAge North Carolina Education Committee will select up to 20 proposals. All proposals are to be submitted no later than December 31, 2017. The Committee will review all proposals and notify applicants of the committee’s selections by email shortly after this date.

Submission will be accepted ONLY through our website using the form below. Presenters will be notified of their selection during the last week of January.

Sessions at the Annual Conference are intended to educate and support learning and, therefore, presenters may not sell, promote or pitch any specific products and/or services. In addition, LeadingAge North Carolina does not pay concurrent session presenters honoraria, reimburse expenses (e.g. travel, lodging or copying), or waive conference registration and/or trade show booth fees. Presenters will receive a complimentary registration for the day of their presentation and may attend other sessions on that same day. Additional days will require a separate registration form and payment. Electronic handouts for selected presentations will be requested no later than two weeks prior to the conference in order for attendees to download materials prior to the conference.
